DR's and Buddy boxing
Will Dual rates work while BB if the master TX is the one set with the DR. I have a Futaba 6YG that is used as the master during instruction and I am in the process of begining to land and my instructor told me that I should tone down my control throws a little. Would DR's be the best way to do this or should I limit the throws mechanically? Thanks.

RE: DR's and Buddy boxing
With the exception of high-performance aerobatics, or 3-D flying, I recommend NOT using dual rates - especially for a beginner. You have enough to think about, and I have seen MANY crashes (By both rookies and seasoned veterans) that were caused by having the low rates set when they thought the High Rates were on (Couldn't pull out of a loop etc,)
My advice - Change them mechanically. |
RE: DR's and Buddy boxing
Good point. Then I'll do it mechanically. Thanks.

RE: DR's and Buddy boxing
Dual rates apply only when the master transmitter is controlling. When the buddy box is controlling, the signal is "100%", even if the master is set at 75% or 125% or whatever. UNLESS the buddy box is also a computer radio and set up with its own dual rates (not usually the case).
