- No, I have not sealed the hinge gap, only because I fly this one very slow (about 1/4 throttle most of the time), but it is highly recommended (I should do it, even though I have over 50 flights with no problem!).
- I did replace all servo arms with heavy duty ones.
- I replaced all control horns to adjutable Dubro (see pic).
- I don't think that Hitec 5475HB are enough at 76 oz, but I am not vrey knowlegeable on -Hitec. I do use Hitec 5945 on my 33% Cap, and like those a lot.
- You might have read on the Funtana threads that many guys using the Saito 100 had to add a lot of dead weight in the nose to balance it. I mocked up the assembly of the plane when I got it, and tried several engines for proper CG, in the end it came very close with the 1.50: I now have about 1 oz of lead in the tail for balance at about 7-1/4 ". It beats having to put as much as 10 oz in the nose, and then being under powered to climb out of a torque roll.
- I also replaced the tail wheel with a Sullivan (10 to 12 lbs -see pic- I first had a smaller one, but it kept bending when taxiing).
