Aerobat Trainer Help
Hi
I am looking for a few suggestions on an aerobatic trainer. I have read that the dura brick is a bad idea. Here are a few that I found I would like to know what you guys think JKAerotech Foam trainer (not aerobatic) Easy sports (GPMA0150) Uproar 40 (TOWA2020) Contender (TOPA0210) I want to stay in the .40 size. I do not care what size RX and servos I have plenty of both. My flight experience is 6 month on a Crazy Max, that I feel comfortable with and my zagi. I can fly the tape off my zagi. I want to move over to gas for the power and ease refiling. If there is something else that I missed. Please let me know. I already ordered a dura plane aerobat but I am going to send that back. I am understanding that a heavy plane like the dura plane will not fly well. I do have a slight breeze where I live and I thought that the heaver plane would help a bit. Very Confused Joe PS if there is anyone in the gilbert AZ area that flys I can use all the help I can get. I'll buy the beer. (after we are done flying) |

Not on your list but I would recommend the SIG 4 Star 40. Excellent second plane and aerobatic trainer both docile and very aerobatic at the same time.
I have a duraplane stick and while it fly's fine, the aluminum tail boom flexes a lot which makes it very difficult to fly with any precision. If you have the money to keep it, it's not a bad goof around plane though. |

The contender is a good choice, very lively with a .60 size engine. I Sig still makes the Kavalier, it is also a good plane. The Hangar 9 ultra sticks are good also.

Uproar! I've been flying for a little more than a year. Progressed pretty rapidly and now own a little squadron of some 6 flyable planes, but I always bring my Uproar to the field. I usually bring 2 planes, but on the days that I only bring one, it's the Uproar. The plane has an enormous flight envelope and is just plane fun to fly! BTW, heavier planes don't necessarily fly better in the wind. My 3.7lb Uproar is my best "wind" flyer.

H9 sticks, will give you a round for your money, the .40 size itīs great to start, on low trows the transition wonīt be violent!!, and later on high trows......,also sticks are really easy to fix, mainly your new challenge will be faster landings than a trainer!!,
other sticks with oversize surfaces will do as well!!, easysport is good too, but .....is easy!! uproar, just as the dazzler, wonīt handle hard landings as well as the sticks, and besides their wings are glued, just my tips!! |
