Good 2nd planes:
Sig Four Star 40 Great Planes Super Sporster 40 SIG Something extra (if you keep it on low rates for the first few flights) Hangar 9 Twist (Also if you keep the rate on very low, this was my second plane but it is more for 3d flying but does well for sport flying) and a host of others In all of the above I would really recommned the Four Star 40. You can transfer all of the stuff from the alpha right into it any one of the above |
RE: can i use the same servos
Yes you can use the whole radio set up. Just as others have said check it over thouroughly. Some suggestions would be a SIG Midstar 40, 4*40, and a goldberg Tiger II. Any of those would work just fine.

Sure you can switch everything over to your second plane, I did. Alpha to Sig 4 star. If I remember correctly the servos are JR 527s and have plastic gears. Be sure and check them over and be certain they are not stripped. The JR Quattro radio is a fine 4 channel radio and I used mine through six aircraft, up until the time I needed more than four channels.
I strongly recommend the SIG 4 Star as a second airplane. It is reasonably gentle, will do basic aerobatics, and will give you a gentle introduction to tail dragger aircraft, as it is not "squirrely" on takeoff. Good luck and welcome to the hobby, doubledee |
