come to find out the top right toggle switch on m y radio is configured for flaps. well as I was correcting an approach, I accidentally hit the switch and wow what a left turn into the corn field. No damage just my pride. any way chris cochran helped me figure what happened and how to fix. Oh well, the rookie is still learning.
