a dumb balancing question

My head is not quite working at the moment. I am trying to balance the Super Air that I got. The manual says 120mm from leading edge of the wing. Here is the dumb question. If it balances say, 100mm would it be more tail or nose heavy than if it balanced at 120mm?

thanks

Easy rule... wherever the balance point is in relation to the desired balance point, that's what the plane is. I.E., if the actuall balance point is behind the desired balance point, the plane is tail heavy. In front, nose heavy. Simple, eh?

Another easy way to tell is to set it on the recommended balance point. If it fall to the nose, it's nose heavy etc.

For the first flights it is better to be a little nose heavy rather than tail heavy. "Nose heavy flys ugly, but tail heavy only flys once."

Good luck!

dont remember where I saw/read/heard this but....

A nose heavy plane flys great.
A tail heavy plane flys once.

You can rebalance a nose heavy airplane. You may be able to repair a tail heavy airplane. I think we are all on the same page here.
