Balancing the Nexstar

Hello...I am balancing the my new Hobbico Nextstar with a balancing jig...I have it sitting on the jig which is centered under the CG points under both wings...what should be level ? I have the bubble level sitting on the rear stabilizer...is this the correct point of reference for balancing the plane....or would it be the top of the fuselage between the wing and the stabilizer? Thanks for the help...Greg R

First, remove the level from the stab, that's adding weight to the tail which won't be there in flight.

Just eyeball it, the plane should look like it's flying level, or just slightly nose down.

If it looks like it's flying up-hill, move some weight forward or add some nose weight.

Thanks Mike....I wasnt sure how much precision was needed...the level bubble weighs less than an 1/10 ounce so it doesnt have any affect on the balance when placed on the stabilizer....I felt that if the stabilizer was level...the plane would be level...it's tough to eyeball level with this plane in that the fuselage is tapered and rounded from the wing to the stabilizer....

If the plane points a bit nose-down, your CG is a bit forward of the recommended spot - which is O.K......
