fuel pump question
 
bought a hand crank fuel pump and some hose. my question is do i need to buy an adaptor for the hoses or anything?

no, not really... The only thing you might want is a couple pieces of brass fuel line to make couplers out of... The little "fuel caps" like the quick cap are real nice to have too... THat way your not constantly opening your jug'o'fuel... If you don't want to spring for the cap, you can make your own.. Just get a couple of "bulkhead" style nipples... drill two holes in the cap for them... From one extend some fuel line down into the jug (you can put a little filter clunk or something on it if you want to be really nice.. ;) Then come from that line (on the top of the cap) to your fuel pump inlet... Go from the outlet with a long piece of fuel line with a coupler shoved in it (made from the brass line)... Then stub a 2 inch piece of fuel line on the top of the cap on the other nipple... This way it's closed by coupling the fuel pump output to the other nipple... When you want to fuel up, just unplug the output fuel line, plug it into your fuel tank and crank away....
