Looks a bit like a Hobbico Superstar with an Avistar fuselage -- sort of -- or any number of other standard trainers

Can't tell the name brand but can tell you that its looks like a standard 40 sized 4 channel trainer which would be good to get into the hobby with. [8D]

Looks like an old avistar

The nose cheeks are too truncated for a stock Avistar -- although it certainly resembles one. Some other views would be helpfull.

What does it matter? You can just name it! I mean you already bought it, right?

Anyway, Chinese copies may not be exact replicas of the original... they could be just made to look like it. Don't be fooled! But that is a pretty nice example of a Chinese trainer!

RE: what model is this pic?

well thx anyway i'll just call it an avistar then! i just wanted to know the name so i can like use it in forums...well duh..i know its a 40 sized trainer...or else i wouldnt have bought it. GMS 2000 engine...any good?

RE: what model is this pic?

oh and i have to buy the engine and stuff seperately also the servos and all that. only things included was the plane, which i had to build myself. lots of glueing! so if the avistar is a RTF, then it probably isnt. Futaba 6XHS...i use it for both my shogun 400 and this trainer...

RE: what model is this pic?

who did you buy it from? i use to fly in hong kong and know many of the good stores there.

gms is okay... decent power but many of them refuse to shut down. finally, my friends had to throw in the towel... literally. to stop their engines they would throw a rag on the prop... works every time! :-)

RE: what model is this pic?

so that is not your plane? you are confusing. that is a stock picture?

and... it isn't so obvious that it's a 40 class trainer. i know a few people that sell 30 class trainers in hong kong that look kinda like that. i'd measure it and compare with stuff at tower hobbies if you don't know what class it is. anyway, shouldn't the instructions say?

That sure looks like an Avistar to the "T" but.. With the name missing
on the fuse (damage??) which someone fab'ed a new fin that is longer
and placed the stab at the bottom of the fuse???

Looks like my Hobbico EP Superstar befor I did the conversions, and upgrades. The difference being the Glow Engine on the front.

RE: what model is this pic?

I don't think that it's either an Avistar or a Superstar EP. The nose cheeks are truncated, the horiz stab is set too low for either one & the fin/rudder is not from an EP. The windshield is Avistar-looking but the cabin-rear drops too sharply for an Avistar.

I think that it's a Hobbico look-alike Chinese generic trainer of some description.
