I say go for it.

if you keep practiceing as much as you can you will be ready for the cub before its done.

I learned to fly RC on a hanger 9 80" cub that I shoehorned a saito .80 into. (waaaaaaaay too much power.... but it was fun :p )

also flying a cub will help get you to co-ordinate your turns (use both aileron and rudder to turn) to get you used to flying with the rudder (something i think everyone should learn)

just watch out for those nose overs on landing and taxiing (see avatar :D )

THECELT,

YES i would attempt it. Now I am only an 8 year old boy but I have crashed an advance so I am back to my trainer, and the J3 CUB is trainer like.

Do you have anyone to help you?

GO for it. Build the plane of your dreams and put the details you want on it. I would have an experienced builder/flier check out your work from time to time to make sure you are heading down the right path!

See if you can find a Carl Goldberg J3 kit, then cover it in coverite fab. then paint it any color you wont to and you will have a long flying cub. Mine is about 8 years old and after I tightened it up it has stayed nice and tight. I put a FA 80 4=stroke in it and its got a lot more power but it does what I want.
