Plane/Engine combo...

Hi all,

After some delibration and a lot of good advice, I've decided that I would like to invest in the WM T-34. However, I am keen to outfit the aircraft with a .50ish sized engine. Either the O.S .50 SX or the Webra .50 GT. The reason why I am keen to get a good powerful engine like one of these is because I already have a .46 LA on my LT-40 and wanted an engine that would be able to provide more power when I am ready for more aerobatics (basically a more versatile engine). What does everybody think? After these two engines, the ST G-51, the O.S. .46 AX and the TT-.46 are my only options (less expensive also). I basically don't want to get an engine that is very similar to my .46 . Also, the SX is at the top end of my budget.

Thanks a lot,

P.

Thanks a lot Red.

Do the TT and Super Tigre rate any where near the other three engines?

The TT 46 pro and the Evolution 46 are both VERY good engines for considerably less money that the OS (And both will blow your LA out of the water)

If you want to save a buck, go with the TT pro 46.
I have three of them. All run great.
I would never buy another OS ## LA.

Bill

Also, I fly a WM SS 40 with the TT Pro 46 on it. No problem with power. The engine has more than enough.

I have an OS 50 and it is a very hot engine and would be much more than you need for that plane. The EVO is a nice engine as is the 46AX.

Hi P.

My second plane after my trainer was a Bridi Killer Kaos with a Rossi 60...I was clearly way out of my league and opted for the WM T-34, strapped a 46fx on it, proped it down to get a little more out of it and SHE SCREAMS..... it's extremelly capable.....You won't be sorry with the 46... Yes, maybe a little more than the others but if the ax is anything close to the fx, reliable, powerful, easy to tune, and quick breakin.... you can't go wrong with this combo.... I think you will find it much more snappy than the LA.. I do understand wanting something different as well as bugdet concerns: Whatever you choose of the 3, weight will not be an issue: W/ Muffler: OS46ax-17.2 oz. vs ST G51= 18.4 oz., vs TT 46-17.1 oz.

I still use the T-34 w/ 46fx to warm up with...over 80 flights on it- this plane is also excellent to test and polish your skills in very windy conditions if desired. Good Luck!
