first, what do you think of this plane for a park flyer/ mess around with plane?

And second what makes a jet so much faster than a prop plane

RE: questions

Well, I've never seen the plane that they list before. But I think it's going to fall into the category of "You get what you pay for". From the looks of the ad I would say you are probably going get $20 worth of plastic, if you know what I mean.

Just my .02 cents worth

RE: questions

a propellor moves are large mass of air at a relatively slow speed to get thrust. a jet takes a small mass of air and moves it really fast. Turbofans, like the jt9-d used on 747's and such, are a combination of both those theories. Jets go much faster because they are more sleek and aerodynamic, making them capabil of such speeds. Not to mention the power to weight a turbine can throw out!
Some props can go as fast as some jets though. A few WWII p-51 mustangs crashed because they had control lockout from breaking the sound barrier in power dives.

RE: questions

Coming back to what rcken said, i have neve seen the plane and your twenty dollars is worth nothing more than a scam. Once a guy paid 200 $ for an xbox and all he got was a pic. Turns out in tiny light coloured letters it said "pic only." Pretty cheap huh. but anyway for that kinda money and that kinda plane be sure to ask if this plane even flies or if its just a model.

In regards to that toy if you really expect any enjoyment then I would suggest a careful reading of the seller feedback and even the info on the add. Simply flushing more than forty bucks down the toilet. Also consider the unreasonable shipping is more than the product. Notice on the site there are no pictures of toy in flight only fanciful drawings. I rather enjoyed some of the seller feedback along with the indications that they do not respond to E mail only respond to negative feedback.

All their other items are just various kinds of toys and I enjoyed the obvious indications of deceptive advertizing.

I do remember this individual posting here at RCU about a year ago asking how do I install a radio in this model (The same one you have indicated).

No Far better you take your twenty bucks grab the girl friend and head on down to the local Flicks and see the new Howard Hughs movie, you get much more flying enjoyment than that thing.

John;)

RE: questions

You can't afford a few hundred dollars for a trainer. But now you want a jet? how are you going to afford the few THOUSAND dollars that a turbine plane costs??

RE: questions

Uh,

If you look closely at the positive feedback at e-bay, they look suspicious to me. Many are the same and many repeat addresses. I think you should STAY AWAY...put your 20.00 toward a decent trainer. Buy once, not twice. It looks like JUNK to me and the responses to negative feedback were laughable.

Get good RC stuff...you will be much happier. This junk will make you leave before it gets fun.

These types of vendors are to be avoided, but hey...it's your money.

Good Luck
