how is this kit for a second plane

I recently acquired a nobler it is a 51 inch low wing tail dragger i was wondering if any body out there had anything good or bad to say about it. and what kind of flying skills i should have be for I try to fly it my first plane was a goldberg falcon III 56 inch top wing with an os 46 fx

2nd Plane

The RC Nobler will be fine if you keep the throws reasonable when learning. Many fellow club members are using similar planes as second planes. I actually prefer the Sig Mid star (others like the low wing star series from Sig and they are also good).
Just remember it is a go where you point it plane.

I was taught the order should be High wing trainer trike gear, Low wing trainer trike gear, Low wing tail dragger, shoulder wing super hovering high speed rip the wings off fire breathing monsters. But I kind of skipped ahead. My son 14 is about to solo from a tiger trainer to a Sig Fazer with a Rossi 45 and a pipe. He will be skipping ahead also. The nobler will be fine. CB

Those are both reasureing ansers thank you. Cb you wouldn't consider the nobler a shoulder wing super hovering high speed rip the wings off fire breathing monster would you?

My first plane was a TOWER TRAINER 40 sized, second was a BRIDI HIGH WING SEMI SYMETRICAL, I started it out as a "TRIKE" landing gear then changed it to "TAILDRAGGER" (It's now on floats) Then my next step was a BOUND to a KYOSHO CAP 232 ARF. It was a radical learning experience, I called it a SNAP 232. I still have it also in the shed on the ceiling. now I really like PATTERN TYPE planes.
So I agree with above, The NOBLER will be fine and "FUN"

Nobler is Not a shoulder wing super hovering high speed rip the wings off fire breathing monsters. I just was trying to show a progression. My second plane was a Sig Cougar that weighed 8.5 lbs OS60rear exhaust with a tuned pipe. It was a low winged high speed rip the wings off fire breathing monsters. It would fly over 100mph and land at 20 way to fast but it had to because the wing loading was so high. I snapped it on my first take off because the engine flamed out at about 10 feet off the deck and the speed was a little slow. The nobler will be fine. CB

the plane i am learning on now is a falcon III with an os 46 fx the plans specifie any thing from a 35 to a 45 in a two stroke but the nobler kit advised a os 46 fx so when i lost the mufler i had on an old royle 40 i had on it origanaly i went on and got the 46 i was checking the tune on the engine when i had it out today and i held it up to see if it would lean out when it was upright and i noticed that it would try with some force to fly right out of my hands and felt like it would hover at about 2/3rds thotle i was woundering if it would hover and do those torqe rolls every body is talking about
totaly confused bill

Do what you want to

For my second plane, I built a GP Tracer. In case y'all are wondering, it is a mid wing, aerobatic trainer that really goes where you point it. Many would not recommend this as a second plane, but I wanted it. I built it carefully and with some help. Because I had set up the plane with flaperons, I was not able to use the buddy box. So I had to go from the high drag trainer to the rocket on the first flight. I now have more than 50 flights on this plane, and I have yet to let it get away from me.

So what is my point? Build and fly what you want to...just make sure you get some help. Ask your instructor about the plane you want, and listen to them. Remeber, they are the ones who know your tendencies.

I just today "aquired" one of the new Nobler kits at my local hobby shop, with no more experience at RC than my kit-built LT-40 and OS46FX. I built a control line version of the Nobler some 25 years ago and couldn't resist it when I saw the RC version on the shelf.

How long do you figure it will take you to get it into the air? I'm more than curious to know how your first flight with it goes!

Just have fun

i taught my self how to fly, with an armadilo which is not a good trainer to me, my second plane was an Extra 300 by goldberg so what ever you think you can handle do it and have fun with it,,, nobody can tell you what is best for you.. i fly better with a fast plane than a slow one,,,, just remember the most important rule ...be safe and have fun... there are only 2 kinds of planes 1.those that have crashed and 2. those that will

I currently just finished my topflite nobler. It is my third plane although, it could've been my second.I built it with the optional retracts and flaps. You will be alright flying this plane as long as you make sure your cg is correct and your throws are on point. This plane has a high wing loading with the extras installed so make sure you keep plenty of airspeed built up or it will drop right out of the sky.It really is a pretty fast plane with the OS 46FX up front so be prepared to stay ahead of the plane to stay in control.I Love mine and you will too i'm sure.....

Great Trainer and Cheap!

CHECK OUT www.spadtothebone.com and look for the Debonair trainer. They may not look that good, but will sure help you fly without any emotional and financial reservations! Go to the forum and ask for help whenever....

Yep and if the Deb looks to tame build a DPS, it's about the best second plane you could have
