Adjustable Servo Link?
On my NexStar, the throttle and nose wheel push/pull rods are adjusted by feeding them through a brass block which has a screw threaded onto it. I know you all know that, but my nose wheel block is not staying on the servo arm - nothing to hold the block in place. My question is, do you know of a recommended fix or should I get a new arm/block?

RE: Adjustable Servo Link?
The little brass block should have a snap-on collet on the pin that goes through the servo arm (either that or a nut that threads on). You can buy replacement collets at your LHS.

RE: Adjustable Servo Link?
Looks like you may need to replace the connector on the arm because the "keeper" or "retainer" on the bottom came off. I recommend these:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXD929&P=0 These are tightened with an allen wrench and work well. You may have to drill the wire hole to fit the wire which is probably metric. Also, use the metal included retainer not the plastic one, it holds tighter. You will need to remove the arm from the servo to install the device and then reinstall. Do the drilling while it is off. hold with pliers being careful of fingers. You should be able to get these or very similar at LHS. Be careful when resetting rudder and nose wheel centers. Let instructor know you had this apart so he will doublecheck your work. Good luck ;) |
RE: Adjustable Servo Link?
I believe your describing an EZ connector. You should have a small nylon disk that is installed on the brass pin that goes through the servo arm. If you don't have the nylon disk, a metal keeper is used. Replacement disks can usually be purchase from your LHS. Check with another R/C modeler in your area, they'll probably give you one or two.

RE: Adjustable Servo Link?
Get the metal version if you can. It holds better.
