Cutting Servo Openings

when I go to cut out the servo openings on an ARF, is there any need to use a heat gun to shrink the fabric before I do this? In other words, if there are any wrinkles in the fabric should I use the gun before I cut the openings or does it not really matter...whether I need to shrink the fabric before of after I cut the opening?

Thanks.

RE: Cutting Servo Openings

If I need to cut an opening I don't use a heat gun, but I do iron around the edges before and after cutting. This helps keep the covering from lifting.

Agree with Chuck. Iron the covering down around the opening before cutting.

I also leave some excess around the opening and iron it down into the opening and under the edges.
