Tiger 2 Wing Saddle Problem

1 Attachment(s)
I am putting together the Tiger 2 from Goldberg and ran into a problem where the wing is not seating correctly in the saddle.
Not sure if I should post this here or in the ARF/RTF forum. What would be the best way to correct the problem? Sand down the back of the saddle? I do not have the wing bolted down, the screws are started in the blind nuts BARELY. So things are slightly lined up right now.

Pics attached.

Just sand the trailing edge and or the saddle notch. It very close and is not big issue.

By the way Tiger 11's are wonderfull second airplanes.

It doesn't look too bad. You do want to check the alignment before doing anything. Snug the wing bolts down and check. If it is where you want it, you can use some epoxy mixed with microballoons to fill the gaps. Put the mixture onto the wing saddle. Put a little glad wrap on the wing to protect it, then put the wing in place on the wet epoxy, re snug the bolts and wipe away the excess. Let it cure. On the other hand, if the wing alignment is off, then sand the saddle a little to correct it. The epoxy adds a little weight but will fill the gaps if they bug you.

I measured the alignment, it was fine. I then measured and marked off how much I would need to sand to allow it to drop down into the saddle. Removed the covering in that area, sanded it down and then used a covering iron to put the strip back that I removed. Looks perfect now. I just wanted to find out if there might be a better way before I did anything.

Thanks for the help!

Nope! You did the correct thing. Good flying plane BTW.

When I saw the pics, I remembered that I had the to sand down the back of my wing as well. It looks like a common problem, but not a big deal. At least you didn't send the wing back and demand another one that fits better! :D
