Is this epoxy ok?
Hi Guys, I need some 30 min. epoxy for a foam wing plane. I checked my supply, and the resin bottle is solid as a rock. I also have some Z-Poxy Finishing Resin. The box says 20-30 minute working time. Can I use this as my 30 minute epoxy? (I never did understand what the difference was).

RE: Is this epoxy ok?
You'd be better off just getting some fresh epoxy for building, as I don't think the finishing resin is made to hold stressed areas together. It's basically formulated to apply fiberglass cloth to wood or plastic, to flow evenly and to be easy to sand. These properties in my opinion make for a epoxy that's not necessarily strong enough to build with. You're going to need some regular epoxy sooner or later for a balsa model, so you might as well get some now.

Originally, I had used the Z-Poxy to fuel-proof a fuel tank area. |

Hi!
It will work alright! Most of the time wood and foam in our kits is the many times weaker than the glue itself. Regards! Jan K Sweden |

You could also soak the bottle that got hard in hot water and it will return to its normal state, most of the time.
