Prop question
What does size, shape, 2 blades, 3 blades the diameter, the pitch or whatever characteristics there is in a prop compare 2 one another? What’s the difference? Is there a chart that tells you the difference? Etc...
I also remember seeing a charge of what prop to use for a certain size engine. I cant find it but does someone remember the link to the original graph? Thanks |

RE: Prop question
In general, its easy to find a starting prop when you lnow the engine size. To get higher performance for a particular engine/airplane takes a bit of experimentation. If you want pull you go for a wider prop with a smaller pitch. To get more speed, go for a shorter prop with a larger pitch. Planes that have a large front cowl or lots of wing area do better with a wider prop. If the wing area is small with thin wings then a prop with a smaller diameter and higher pitch works better. Thats why it would be hard to come up with a chart that covers everything. For a general prop chart you can check out the link below. http://www.murocmodelmasters.org/props.shtml[8D]
