RE: Solo
AH, that's great to hear, NJAIRSTRIKE! I solo'ed last August with my NexSTAR. Had a great day. After that, I started flying every day the wind wasn't over 15 kts..ha..
My next plane was a Tiger 60. Great second, as suggested by many people both at the club and here on RCU. Another good choice is the Midwest Aerobat. I found it very clean and easy to build in ARF form. Fly's just great. See the article by Frank Granelli on MA Sport Aviator at www.masportaviator.com. Where in NJ are you? We have a good club in Atlantic County with a great field about 15 miles west of the city along the Black Horse Pike. If you are in the area, let me know and you can fly out there with us. Again, congrats! |
RE: Solo
Hey thanks alot!, Well I live in north jersey right next to the lincoln tunnel. If you are near atlantic city your about 2 hours away cause thats how long it takes me to get there. I will be more than happy to leave early in the morning and fly with you guys but I'll wait for a really good day to come over. Maybe if you can PM me the adress so I can put it on mapquest and find out exactly where ur located. THanks again!:D

RE: Solo
6181 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing, NJ. That's the address to Carmen's Farm Market in Mays Landing. We are in a big (and I mean big) area behind Carmen's at mile marker 45. If coming in from the GSP, take the AC Expressway towards Philadelphia then get off at the Mays Landing - Hamilton Mall exit. Of course, pay the stupid toll..[>:], then go to the light, left then right on the Back Horse Pike which is adjacent to the AC Expressway so that's a left with an almost immediate right. Follow that to mile marker 45. You will see a smokey the bear sign at a dirt road. Turn right and go in about 200 yards. You will see us out there enjoying the weather.
We are out there most every weekend that the weather is nice. The property belongs to the NJ Department of Forestry. It is a grass field that they land their fire-fighting tankers on to both refuel and fill with water for forest fires. We have all sorts of flying going on.. from sport to pattern to SAM to helicopters. Mostly fixed wing though. With the weather getting better, wind getting reasonable, we will burn a lot of fuel. You are welcome to come out. Send me email if you have a chance.. my address is [email protected] (retired from the US Coast Guard). Dick. |
