Is it possible too...

Can I use a Futaba 6EXA transmitter with a Hitech Laser4 Receiver as long as they're both on the same channel?
I'm sorry if this has been discussed before. The reason I ask is because the Futaba system has a much nicer
transmitter than the Hitec system.

If both the transmitter and receiver have the original frequency crystal YES!!! by all means YES !!:D
As long as theya re in the same frequency and wiht the original crystal you won't have a problem

You should be able to. Futaba and Hitec are usually very compatable.

The only issue I have ever heard about is if you mix crystals. Meaning a Futaba radio Hitec reciever and a Futaba crystal in the reciever. There are talks that the multiplexers in the crystal has a communication issue with reciever. Of couse there are a lot of people who have never had an issue I just offer the advise and say for a 12$ crystal why take the chance. Hitec reciever use a hitec crystal Futaba reciver use a Futaba crystal. And either Futaba or Hitec radios are compatable. I use a Hitec reciever and a Futaba Radio.

Thanks for the post guys !! I will use the FUTABA crystals in both the transmitter and receiver.

No, you should NOT use a Futaba crystal in a Hitec RX.

Use a Hitec crystal in a Hitec RX.

If you have any doubts about this, contact Hitec directly, and ask them about it. If they say it's ok, then it's ok, otherwise, you shouldn't do it. (I know some guys do, and report no problems. But that doesn't mean you won't have problems).

Futaba transmitter use futaba crystal
Hitec receiver use Hitec crystal
Same frecuency
charge your battery and go fly!!!:)

Futaba and Hitec both use negative shift, so you'll be fine there.

I actually do this in my cars. I've got a Hitec Tx and and Novak Rx for Futaba, using Hitec crystals in both with no trouble. Granted, this is on a 2ch 75MHz surface radio, but you should be okay with it in your plane.

yea, as the others say, Use the same brand crystal as you the rband of the item you put it in. You should be good other than that...

Futaba and Hitec both use negative shift, so you'll be fine there.

This is not necessarily true. Hitec makes three different kinds of rx with respects to shift. They make a postitive shift, negative shift, and selectable shift. As long as you have either a negative shift, or selectable rx, then you will be fine. If it's selectable, make sure it's on negative shift. Always do a range check before flight. This will tell you for sure if they are compatible.

Go ahead & use the Futaba Rx xtal, you will NOT experience any problems whatsoever.

I have several Tx--Mostly Futaba and a couple Tower. My Rx in my planes are Futaba, HiTec, or Tower. All have the same channel crystal and still have the manufacturers crystal that came with them. In 12 years I've never had a problem.

The crystal is not shift sensitive -- but the electronics are.

I've used a futaba dual conversion xtal in a Hitec rx with no problems. However, this was done on an electric plane with no ill effects.
No issues with buzzing servos etc. I did not take the plane out too far away though. The radio I used was a Hitec Eclipse and the rx was a Hitec 555. GWS xtals will work in Hitec rx's too. I've never tried it but heard of others doing it.

Crystals for Hitec recievers are $7.50 a piece would you risk your plane to it?
I would use the manufacturers xtals (BTW futabas are $20 for rx crystal [:'(]) I am going away from Futaba using Hitec and Airtronics equipment :D
