Nice pics Bubbagates but....... The F-18a you listed is actually a wonderfully detailed F-15 Eagle. And the F-15 is actually an F-14 Tomcat... Sorry man, just had to nit-pick didn't I?

Anyway, why aren't you guys (RCU) covering the show this year? Your stuff on last year's show was awesome!

I know I screwed up the names. Goes to show you that you should not do detailed work at 2 im the morning right after leaving Tony Packo's. I'll get around to fixing them when I fix up the other 50 or so pics I have to post yet

RCU did cover it and I would suspect there will be some things posted soon. The main players for RCU were there all 3 days and I go there mid afternoon friday and left pretty early this morning so I suspect in the nexxt few days we will start seeing the official RCU coverage stuff.

I must admit that this was my firt year there and I did not take enough money with me. I can see next year I am not even walking out of the house with less than 2K. I felt like a 6 yr old in a toy store.

Hello!

Any info on the 1/3 scale Yak and the Extra 300S(yellow w/ flag sheme)? I would like to know what mfg the two planes came from if possible.

Sorry guys I have no info on any of the pics. All of them with a few exceptions were on the judging tables with a very basic, what is it and who built it., but I did not take notes. Sorry [:o]

Yep sure did. It actually has 4 OS91FX engines turning fans. There is a little "tug" that connects to the nose gear that hides the batteries needed to start the engines on the plane and also is capable of pulling the plane around. I did not see if the shuttle on top actually can be released from the air.

My favorite jet was the Balck and copper color King Cat, absolutely beautiful.

If you have not seen the pics since this am at around 6:00am EDT the go check it aout again. I added about 15 more and one of them is the 747.

Hi Gates,

Thanks for the info about the 747. 4 x OS91 FX is a lot of power. The largest plane I have ever flown was powered by OS 160 FX. Whenever you see any RC 747 video on net, please let me know.

And by the way, the black and copper kingjet.............. Its amazing.... Look at the shine on that thing.......

i have a question bubba, i have seen planes where the elevator hangs down like a real plane why do they do that?

That depends,

Usually on a larger plane coreless servos are used and depending on the maker (JR8611 servo are known for this) of the servo when no power is going to the servo the control surface will droop do to it's own weight and it does not take much weight to cause this.

You can also just push the surface down if you want "the look"

oh ok. I went flying yesterday by the way. I did good. I came in and did good landings, but the new gear wasn't backed by plywood, so, that made it come out and cut the antenna, it will be back RTF by the weekend. This was the second time going out after my solo w/o instructor. Last time you know what happened. I have a Q so PM when ya get a tic
