Engine Will Not Stop!!!!

I recently purchased a new SuperTigre Engine (GS45ABC) to install on a Sig Kavalier. The engine starts easily and runs great. Unfortunately I am having serious difficulty in having the engine stop reliably.

I have set the throttle to complete close when the kill switch is activate.
The throttle stop screw has been backed out significantly to allow additional movement of the throttle barrel. Presently running with the idle stop screw removed.

The engine runs well at high speed, transitions from idle to high speed without any issues but does not stop when the throttle is completely closed!!!!

What am I missing????? Any suggestions for me to try!

Thank you, in advance for all your help.

Check to make sure that the carb is tightly sealed to the engine. If not, air can leak past even with the throttle completely closed.

Does the engine have a plastic backplate? If so make sure it is on well. If you have to, put your hand over the muffler to stop it

The two previous replies are onto your problem. There is an air leak somewhere in the system when the throttle is completly closed. Find the leak, and eliminate it.

If you have had anything apart ( that is carb or backplate ) Look there first. If you haven't had it apart now is the time. Make sure that the carb is solidly down on its seal and if thats OK check the BP for a good seal and tightness. If that doesn't help, seal both with RTV.

Thanks to everyone for your help. This is an excellent site for anything relate to RC.

With your guidance I check the engine this morning. For some reason the carb was not solidly down on the O ring and therefore leaking air. Repositioned the carb. Test ran the engine.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!

Again thanks fop your help.
