RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
ORIGINAL: ActionVerb britbrat, I have this trainer and soloed on it last summer so I'm likely close to you in experience. Sorry Action verb -- you missed by 50 years I just noticed that I forgot to mention that in outside snaps the ailerons & rudder are applied in opposite directions -- push the sticks together, or pull them appart. |
RE: aileron rolls with a trainer

RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
bruce, i thought dual rates was just a switch? Thats how i thought it was an was gonna change in flight. It will be the 7CAF and what radio do you hvae bruce

RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
D/R is just a switch that you can select in flight BUT you program the switch for the amount of rate on the ground. Assuming High rate is 100%, you can set low rate for, let's say, 50%. If at a later time you were to decide you want low rate to be 70% you would want to reprogram the switch while on the ground, not in the air. While it could be done in the air, chances are you would crash due to the distraction.
The same is true for any other program changes. I have heard of people trying to do it in the air, this is the only reason I mention it. Hopefully you would not have tried it. You will understand better once you have the radio in your hands and the manual. Read the manual I linked to you before |
RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
ok, I should order the radio friday. I am so glad, I think i will order an extra reciver pack too.

RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
What do you need an extra rx for? I can see maybe a crystal for the trainer. Do you need an extra servo for the 4* for the ailerons?(Total 5)
|
RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
I meant rx battery, my bad. Me and my unableness to communicate with people today. I am going to do dual aileron servos if there is a thing in the instructions for it. if not, i won't.

RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
Instructions for the plane or the radio?
Either way, it is easy as long as the wing is thich enough and I'm sure yours will be. I thought I saw you were getting a set of instructions sent to you? |
RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
If you get an extra crystal, you can put the trainer on the new transmitter. This is assuming you are not ordering the 7c on the same freq, are you? Cheaper if you do as long as you are happy with present freq.

RE: aileron rolls with a trainer
Aileron rolls require AIRSPEED! Enter with full power, slightly nose down. Gently pull up to about 20 degrees of pitch. Then apply FULL aileron while unloading the G forces by slightly releasing backpressure on the elevator. If the speed bleeds off, you'll need rudder to complete the roll.
A fun experiment is to unload the airplane (Reduce G force with forward stick) and apply rudder... all that happens is the nose sloshes around... no roll. Then apply elevator backpressure while holding the rudder input... Voila! a rudder roll. High speed, roll with ailerons. Low speed, roll with rudder. Of course a coordinated roll requires them both. ....Merrily we roll along...;) |
