Binding Blues
 

Working on my Kadet Lt-40 ARF. I am having a terrible time trying to get the binding issues of my throttle and nose gear resolved. :confused: I have tried moving the servo length, bending the wires, etc. Does anyone have suggestions/tips on how to fix this issue? I have made sure that the "bends" of the wire don't stop the wire from moving through the plastic holding, I am using the pre-drilled holes for where to place the wire through. Should I not use the wire with the kit and get the metal thread stuff instead? If so, how can I hook that up? :confused:

I never use the wire that they suggest and go with the braided wire instead, much better. Make sure that you tin the tips of the wire where it gets clamped down so it doesn't get crushed and start to unravel.

I use Sullivan GOLD-N-Rod,or Sullivan Precision Rod,on the throttle control arm I use a ball link connection,at the wheel control arm I keep the control adj.to the min.helps on straight takeoffs,my .o2 only.

I have experienced similar problems with the binding when using the push rods provided in the Sig kits(all amazing kits, need a tad of improvement in the accessories though :D ). Although I have experienced these problems on a Sig Somethin' Extra, I presume that the push rods and nyrod tubes are of the same type on the LT-40 as well. On the SE, the throttle cable would simply refuse to go into the tubing that was meant to be used with it, so I headed for the hobby shop and got some music wire (3 lengths, 36" each, total spent: ~ $2) that was just slightly smaller than the diameter of the cable. Then I just cut and bent it where required and now it works quiet well without any binding. You could try and use the same method, there shouldn't be any significant slop in the linkage(if any). The Nyrod push rods in Sig kits seem to have a rather uncomplimentary reputation due to the temperature sensitivity that they exhibit(expansion and contraction). You shouldn't have any problems with attachment since the LT-40 uses screw-lock connectors on throttle and nose gear controls. Hope this helps.
