Hangar Rash?
I've been browsing around some ads, and noticed the phrase "no hangar rash". What exactly is hangar rash?

RE: Hangar Rash?
It's scrapes, dents, and dings from laying around the shop or "hangar". being transported to the field, moving, your kids messing with it, the cat chewing on it, the dog scratching it, etc etc....

RE: Hangar Rash?
Exactly.
In the ads, they specifically mean the plane is harder to "ding", and the finish is scratch resistant. Balsa dents easily, while many composites won't deform if you bump a doorframe when walking through the house. I've yet to see an airplane that would survive an encounter with a 2yr old, or a loose toolbox in the back of a van, though both of those would probibly be considered hanger rash in an extreme form. |
RE: Hangar Rash?
