Alpha 1 Lives!

1 Attachment(s)
At least I hope to find out on Wednesday.
I am glad I decided to practice covering on the Alpha because there are at least a dozen mistakes I made. But I am really happy how it turned out considering this was the second major rebuild, this one quite extensive.
I still have to install the radio equipment and check the balance.
I'm thinking I am going to cover the Tower next before the Rapture, just a little more practice.:D

Just a suggestion...you might want to add some contrasting color to either the top of the wing or the bottom of the wing, just to help with orientation.

Other than that...good job on the rebuild! [sm=thumbup.gif]

Looking good. I began covering my Ailerons on the four stizzar today. It is quite wrinkly and the whole plane will be done with the help of my instructor.

That is great that you went and fixed it. I will have to upload some pictures of the one we fixed after my son in law broke it into several large chunks. Nice job on the covering, sort of reminds me of a Spacewalker. Keep up the good work, you won't regret it. It is a good flying plane, even with an extra 6 oz. of epoxy on board.......

Looking good. If you are going to try any "tricky" things on the rapture, go ahead and practice a little on the tower plane. Mix up your colors, don't want all of your planes to look the same unless you are going for a "FLEET" look. Keep on flying.

I think I am going to go with some white on the bottom of the wing for some contrast.
Thanks for the encouragement guys.
There is something to be said about trying different colors. When I told my wife the colors I was going to use she made a nasty face but loved it when she saw the plane.

I hope I'm so lucky - You should see the color my wife just picked out for our new Dining Room! (I hope it won't affect my appetite! [:'(] )

Minn, What is the "official" name of the color? I gotta hear this.

Skyn --you may have a better optical effect by adding a dark colour to the underside of the wing. You will get more contrast, plus there will be no competing "tone" effects (light tones on top & bottom). At a distance, colour resolution quickly fades, while tone contrasts remains readily visible. It is usefull to have the upper side light (easy to see the sunlight reflected off it in a turn) & dark on the bottom -- not light, so therefore, the bottom).
