I assume the material they are made of is wire? If so, the best way is to use a dremel moto tool with a cut-off wheel. if you do not have this tool, then a hack saw will work. As a last resort use two pair of pliers and bend it back and forth until it breaks. It is not wire, but some other material, please advise what the material is.

I use a pair of linemans' pliers. These are sold in the electrical dept. Otherwise use a dremel with a cutoff wheel.

If you cut it with plyers, file the edges of the cut afterwards to get rid of the sharp edges. [8D]

Best tool I have is the Dremmel tool. The problem with pliers is that they tend to flatten and widen the wire as it cuts it so you end up with a cut sharp edge that is rather flat and wider than the original wire was. The dremmel will cut through nice and you can then touch up the ends to round them or taper or whatever but they will remain the same diameter at first after cutting.

If you can find a pair of pliers with a screw cutter area, then you can use that part to do it. make a fairly good shearing cut. Use the smallest available hole that the pushrod will fit into. Best choice IS the Dremel though. They are hard to plug in at the field but there are battery powered versions(never charged when you need them). [:o]

Be carefull. If you use too big of wire, when you drill the hole in the servo arm, you don't have enough left and it breaks easy.

I get to borrow tools from work for the night sometimes if I need something special. Just got to let the boss know.

If you value your pliers, don't be cutting piano wire with them. Quickest way ro ruin them. Use the Dremel cutoff wheel.
