Buddy box

Im just wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction where I can get a buddybox and cord For a JR Quatro radio, Through the interet for a good price, I need it for my Alphatrainer. the only buddyboxes Ive seen on e-bay are for Futaba radios. another question Is can I possibly use my Hitec 7 radio for this plane and if I did would a Futaba buddy box and cord work on this radio. I prefer to try to get the buddy box for the JR Radio quattro radio. Thanx in advance for any advice
Ray

Regular Futaba and Hitec transmitters can be used interchangebly with each other as buddy boxes.

The Connector for the buddy box cord is different on a JR.

The non computer four channel transmitters make better buddy boxes.

As noted below... Airtronics and JR are Positive shift whereas Futaba and Hitec are negative shift. The two systems cannot be interchanged.

Enjoy,

Jim

You can't use your hitec tx for your alpha trainer, unless you change receivers. The receiver in your alpha is a positive shift, JR receiver, and will only work with JR (and maybe airtronics) stuff. Buy yourself a JR 6102 radio, and use the quattro you have as your buddy box--problem solved.

rays89.... You should be able to find a used/new JR radio on ebay for a
good price and just use it as a buddy box... It does not have to be just a
buddy box.. I just picked up a Futaba radio at a good price for out club
to be used as a buddy box... I beleive I saw a few JR Quatro radios for
around 20..... Just a thought..

Raideron "that was just thought " But it was a good thought indeed. Do the channels have to match? Im assuming not. Then all Ill need the training cord. As for the Hitec Transmitter It is the Hitec Eclipse 7 which is my baby because it has the spectra module for all channels and it is programable shift for both Neg and Pos.

No, the channels do not have to match. The only channel that matters is the master channel--it must match your rx. However, with the JR buddy box, the battery does have to be installed in the slave. You DON'T want to turn the slave on, but the battery has to be installed. I say this so that you will make sure a battery will come in whatever box you choose to order (If you order a used one off of Ebay!)

JR makes a buddy box cord to hook a JR radio to a Futaba Buddy Box.
I have one and it is great.
