Quick Reciever Question
I need a new reciever for my 6AEX Futaba radio. What is the difference between LOW and HIGH band recievers?
|
RE: Quick Reciever Question
low band is channels up to 50 (I think) and high is above 50. It might be another channel i'm not sure.

RE: Quick Reciever Question
From the Futaba site:
Please explain Hi and Low band to me? I am not sure what the difference is between them. Most of our 72Mhz receivers are now tuned to the center of either a low band frequency (channel 11 to channel 35) or high band (channel 36 to channel 60). By tuning to each band, you can easily and safely change your receiver crystal to anywhere within this high or low band range, without having to send it in to be retuned. If you have a receiver that is not marked as to which channel it is, or if it is not marked with a sticker that says if it is High or Low, you can check inside the crystal slot to see if there is a red mark. If there is a red mark, this indicates that the receiver is High band. |
RE: Quick Reciever Question
Also you may want to keep in mind this hi/lo thing only applies to Futaba Rx's due to the way they center tune for either the upper or lower half of the band. The other majors all now center tune to the center of the band and no longer have this problem. In their case the Rx can be changed from on end to the other end of the respective band with no problems.
Another point to remember this does not apply to Tx's. All Tx's unless they are synthesized or can accept a module with another Frequency must be retuned to change crystals. John |
RE: Quick Reciever Question
I've got a couple of these: http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/towl70.html . They work well, the price is good, and they come with a crystal. I've also been happy with Hitec's Electron 6 receivers.
