Engine wont go full throttle
When I advance the throttle to full, it runs for just a sec., then dies back down to idle, and then dies completely. I read another thread where someone had the same problem with their tower .46 engine but I couldnt find it again. Thanks for the help.

The engine may be running too rich...

I tuned to the engine instructions. if i lean it anymore it quits. if i richen it, it bogs down. thanks.

Most likely an air leak somewhere. Check out the carb throat, make sure it's seated firmly and that the rubber O ring is installed correctly. What happens is that you idle along fine, then when you go to full throttle, you start sucking air from places other than just the carb--this leans the mixture out too much, and the engine dies.

I would consider that too lean. My engine does that if I lean it out at full throttle: revs drop, throttle does little unless fully backed off, engine will die if not brought back to idle.

I've got one of those nasty critters [:'(] -- its too lean -- probably on both high speed and low speed needles. Richen the low speed by 1/4 turn & re-adjust the high speed needle. Don't expect miracles from that mechanical lump -- sell it and get something else before you go nutz.[&o]

I had the exact same problem with mine. I ended up sending it back to Tower for credit on a different make of engine.

Hmmm Have you Broken in the engine yet? Or is it brand new?

I had the same problem, never did like that engine. make sure you low end is plenty rich, that engine runs really wierd if the low end is too lean.

I would call tower and get credit for it. They will most likely give it to ya. Then grab a better engine (AKA Supertigre)
