Question on alerion?
I got my first rc plane the other day as a present from my future father in law. It is a Thunder Tiger 40 trainer. I am fairly good at putting things together but this thing is being a pain in the a@@. On one of my alerions when i glued the hinges in for some reason they didn't go all they way in and it was off.So i took it back off breaking a couple of the hinges and having to drill them out.I replaced them but now even after all of that it has about and 1/8th inch or so bigger gap over the other side being maybe a 1/16 or so being right. My question is how will this affect the flight if all? I hate to have to order new wings and start over with it.Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

RE: Question on alerion?
1/8 INCH gap is not too bad for this type of plane. Cover the gap with a piece of clear packing tape and everything will be fine.

RE: Question on alerion?
DMcQuinn is right, you can live with it. The only other alternative is to go to a local hobby shop (LHS) and pick up some CA hinges and re-hinge the aileron. But you should be able to fly like you have it. When you find an instructor show it to him and he will be able to tell a little better if it's ok to fly with like that.
Hope this helps Ken |
