you need "foam safe" or "oderless" CA. The regular stuff melts foam, as you noticed [8D]

Or use epoxy.

Hi!
You have to use epoxy !

Use epoxy only if the hinges are hard plastic with a hinge pin.

The "CA type" hinges, the ones that look like a thin piece of plastic laminated with paper on both sides, are made for installation in wooden parts using CA, but not in foam wings.

You can also use Pacer Hinge Glue with pinned hinges into foam structures, and it won't keep the pivot point from binding up.

I'd recommend epoxy. There's a link here somewhere that describes the process.

MinnFlyer, where are you when we need you?

Here is a question. What did the instructions say to use? What plane are we talking about. That would also help get a better answer. What kind of hinges are they? Inquiring minds want to know. :D

Welcome to our madness.

NOT IF THEY ARE CA Hinges!!

What kind of hinges are you using??
if they are pinned, then epoxy is fine, but if they are CA hinges, epoxy will make them brittle... IMveryHO

Are these the hinges you are using or similar?

If so epoxy is OK.
