got a problem with teh trainer...
every time the instructor landed it the front wheel would twist side ways. we would have to go to the plane and straighten it out before going and takeing off again.
my set up is the stock front landing gear of the sig lt-40. its orientation is held by a screw witch is "slipery" and allows it to spin around on hard landings. what should I do? I think if I coudl just mark the correct location I could drill a hole the size of the screw so that It would hold better. is this a good idea? |
RE: got a problem with teh trainer...
just grind a flat in the gear where the screw tightens down at. this will give it more bite and stop the slipping.

Yep, grind/file a flat for the screw to set on. Then you may need to adjust the linkage slightly for alignment.
