Greatplane Extra 300's

Hi all,
I'm in Singapore and happen to be at a LHS selling the GP 300's. It's a 52" wingspan with a recommended .40 engine size. I'd looked at the packing and everything seems to be well packed. They are selling at about USD $255.
My humble question is that is this a good buy? and how's the reputation of Great Planes? Are their quality good?
I have a brand new O.S. .50SX waiting in the box and so I thought this might be a good plane to hook it up. I'll be leaving this coming Sunday and would really appreciate all your comments with regards to the above.
Thank You

RE: Greatplane Extra 300's

Great Planes has a good reputation. I have been flying the .40 size extra 300 for many years. I think the one I am flying may be the same one you're looking at, but I'm not sure. Mine I build from a kit, so it may be different. I have a ST .51 and the power is OK. The plane is a too heavy for 3d but will fly nicely at 3/4 throttle and full. It snaps quicker than any other plane I have flown (this is a good thing). You must keep some speed up on landing. this plane is not for beginners.
