battery question
I was wondering how long the battery in my nexstar will last after a 15 hour charge.(not flying) I didnt get to fly today and I was wondering if I should drain the battery or keep it charged and try flying it tomorrow.....I just dont want to loose my plane...thanks

RE: battery question
A one-day delay shouldn't hurt it. Go fly.

RE: battery question
You really need to get is a voltmeter so that you can check your batteries condition anytime.

RE: battery question
A fully-charged nicad can be kept ready for flight over a long period just by topping it up with around an hour charge each day. I do this with mine and have a (heavy-duty) timer that kicks in for an hour each morning, that way they are always ready to go.

RE: battery question
NiCad and NiMh both have a rather bad selfdischarge characteristic, NiCads will loose about 2 or 3 % of their charge per day and NiMh about twice that, the older the batteries, the worse the selfdischarge becomes.

RE: battery question
You really want a voltmeter to check the batteries like Manny5150 says, you can also top them off for an hour like Dave says, an even better way is to get a peak charger and re-peak them right before you fly. I also cycle my batteries once every couple of weeks.
