RE: Help me please.....
"Going to solo soon.' Well, since you've flown an Avistar but don't want one I'll assume you want something more advanced. Also, you don't say whether you want an ARF or a kit, so I'll assume ARF. A Big Stik is a fine "advanced trainer" that is more advanced than trainer, but very predictable. However, it flies where you tell it and will not help you regain control passively like a trainer will. The Great Planes Easy Sport 40 is another good step from an Avistar. I like my Kangke Super Kraft SK-50, but it might be too much unless you have an instructor or at least an experienced spotter to trim it out and get you started. It's a nice flier, but has a huge vertical stab with tail wheel and tends to weathervane on the ground if you're not careful. Any plane you choose should have a good checking over and the first flight by an experienced flier. Reverse the ailerons or miss the recommended C.G. and your maiden flight is short and painful. |
RE: Help me please.....
:)I think the H9 Ultra Stick series is one of the best/easiest flying planes for advanced beginner. They are a riot to fly, super easy, and they make them in 3 sizes. The best would be the 60 with a Saito 100.
Thanks Barry |
RE: Help me please.....
Check out the Goldberg tiger II. I had the avistar and went to the tiger for a second plane. Great Plane[sm=thumbup.gif]

RE: Help me please.....
wot about a jupitor ive heard there great (thats wat im getting for my 2nd plane):D

RE: Help me please.....
You already own an excellent "second" model --- keep the Avistar. Put a good 46 in it, convert it to tail dragger & max the control throws. You will be suitably impressed. The Avistar is as good as any "intermediate" trainer out there & it is very cheap -- you've already got it.

RE: Help me please.....
you need to learn on an avistar, or a hanar 9 arrow. once you get in the groove with that plane then you can think about getting something a little spicier. my second plane was the tower kaos. its a low wing trainer that does pleanty of stuff. yet is a breeze to take off and land with.

RE: Help me please.....
I have flown an avistar but only a couple of times but my instructor says I'm really good and that i don't need a beginner and that i should go with something like a acrobatic plane or something more than a trainer but I'm not sure what to get....

RE: Help me please.....
the hangar 9 arrow has a semi sym. wing and is fairly sporty for a trainer. but so does the avistar. your next option would be a low wing trainer like the hangar 9 p51 that just came out or like i said the tower kaos is a hoot.

RE: Help me please.....
Well my friend Bixox 25 says i should get a hanger 9 ultra stick or possibly a SIG four star with a .46 engine
|
RE: Help me please.....
If you truly are a "natural", a 4* offers interesting performance, but with tame launch & recovery characteristics.
However, I would still recommend an Avistar. |
RE: Help me please.....
hey chessmasterx its bigox 25 not bixox 25 and someone else out there agrees with me that the h9 ultra stick would be a great plane or the four star. and yes he is a natural he could have soloed in three flights but it got dark so he will solo in four flights without a problem but he is using the club trainer so he needs a good plane for himself after he solos

RE: Help me please.....
Well I'm sorry for misspelling your name bigox 25, but hte matter of the fact is that there is a lot of airplanes i have heard to buy and i want to know what would be the best one to get!
I want to know which plane stands out out the crowd out of the normal "trainer" planes! |
RE: Help me please.....
4*40? keep the throws limited and the engine running slow... should fly pretty nice for u...
|
RE: Help me please.....
for whats its worth. my second plane was a tower kaos. and that plane was a blast. low wing fully sym wing. and almost lands by itself.
|
RE: Help me please.....
as for a man with few posts I went from a trainer to 4 * and can only say wow I love it what more !

RE: Help me please.....
If you are doing well with the club trainer and want an advanced trainer for your first plane, check out the Midwest Aerobat. At falcon-trading.com. It's a great flyer and will surprise you what it can do aerobatic wise, but it can still perform very well as a trainer. I use them both ways with my students and they love them. It is also a good looking plane that sort of stands out as far as trainers go. I've been flying and teaching for well over 25 yrs and still spend a lot of time on mine. ENJOY !!!! RED
