disposable fuel filters

Have not posted lately allmost forgot how, could use some help, I have a space problem in the engine compartment behind a os fs 91
for a fuel filter. I have found some disposable nylon one piece in line ones that will fit that are sold by mas, they fit . 080 or 2.0 line. Problem is i do not know if i should use them, i have a 2 piece metal one that just wont fit and with these i wont get any metal to metal contact. Has anyone out there used these?

Is there no space in the engine compartment at all, or just behind the engine? The fuel plumbing doesn't all have to fit behind the engine. In general, the shorter the fuel run the better, but if you need to put the filter somewhere else, go ahead. If you're worried about metal to metal contact, fasten the filter somewhere, perhaps to the firewall. Oh, by the way, I don't run filters on any of my planes. ;)

The only filter i use in my clunk/filter in my fuel tank...

I use the disposable filters. I haven't had any trouble with them either. And at my LHS, they're 3 for $0.97 which is a pretty darn good deal in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply Chuck, I took another look and the only space i have for the 2 pc. metal filter is on the side under the engine, might try that. Thanks for the replys guys.
