crashed my nexstar...

well I finaly experienced my first crash at the field today.....I took the trainer flaps off of my nexstar the other day and tried flying it..the plane needed alot of adjusting but I eventually got it to fly decent...well today I decided to make a few more adjustments and get some good flying time in. I did just that but I got a little to acrobatic with the plane, (which I few other people have told me I've been pushing the nexstar to far and that I should move up to a bigger plane) and I ran out of elevator coming out of a vertical spin and hit the ground wing/nose first....the only thing that broke was where the rear horizontal stabilizer slides into...its weird, nothing else got damaged...Im not complaining....I think its time to get the fourstar .40:D

Thats the problem with te nexstar. Whats the point of all the new "easy" to fly addons like flaps? LEarn with an instructor on a a normal tower hobbies trainer. Youll save 150$ and get better performance when you learn how to fly it. BUt soem people have their preferences i respect yours. My traienr is still going strong. IT seems that after people make modifications to their plane they crash. Funny, im planning to remove dihedral soon, crap.

nexstar22 - sounds like a great reason for a new plane to me. Of course, I never really needed a reason for a new plane. :)

I usually need a reason for a new plane, but never a "great reason" :D
Come to think of it, the new plane is usually the reason in and of itself!:D:D:D

My second after my Nexstar was a Tiger 60. Very nice to fly, very forgiving, yet does everything I wanted the Nexstar to do but could not. First engine on the Tiger 60 was an OS 61 SF followed by a Super Tigre 75 with a tuned pipe. Good power.

I also have the Four Star 40 and love it. Mine has an OS 50 and flys like the dickens!!

Enjoy whatever you finally decide on, but if it were me, I would opt for the 60 size aircraft.. easier to see up there.

DS.

I trained on a Kadet LT 40. I must say what a georgeous plane to fly. It has had over 300 flights wheels down and I have NEVER tightened a screw, bolt, anything. I mean NOTHING! Gas it up, take off. I t really pays to do it right the first time. Just got done building a Four Star 40. I am affraid to fly it. I keep making excuses not to take it out:eek: after I spent 2 months building it. Arf's are nice but where's the fun in that?
