RE: Best Way To Learn To Fly???
Read, watch and play with the simulator.
But when you have a minute, look at this web site: http://www.ama-dist-8.org/Clubs Type in your town's name and a distance you're willing to travel. It'll list all clubs within that radius of your town. You may be able to find an instructor from the list of clubs. |
RE: Best Way To Learn To Fly???
ORIGINAL: red head The one thing that folks have missed in this post is that after the time on the sim the time with an instructor will teach you the things the sim CAN'T ie SAFETY, starting, tuning, radio checks, proper taxing, where's the pattern, how to set up an approach etc etc etc. Uh Red -- go back & read my post "The instructor not only provides face-to-face real-time instruction, he/she provides immediate feedback, discipline (in the sense of requiring the student to follow specific flight exercises), and numerous "saves" that the sim just can't do. " The bit about "real time instruction" should cover your concerns in those areas.:D |
RE: Best Way To Learn To Fly???
OK Smitty, you have a plan [sm=thumbup.gif] ----- but I suggest that you forget about the park flier part of that plan & get into a more substantial trainer immediately (either glo or electric) -- it will be cheaper & less frustrating in the long run.
