I am new to RC airplanes. I wanted to know how hard it would be to learn to fly on a Global Quality At-6 .20 Texan rather than learning to fly on a trainer??? If it would be too dificult, does anyone have a trainer with servos and engine that they are willing to trade or anything similiar???

Joshua this would be a poor choice on several counts: Its a very fast little guy when flown with a .25 (The most common size in that class) thats real bad for learning, Its a very small airplane for the speeds it will fly thats bad for maintaining orientation (one of the more difficult tasks in learning) and being small and fast it uses small control throws and this always a problem for new folks to get the control set up right.

A full scale trainer like the T-6, Cubs and a lot of others frequently do not translate well for training in RC. Do yourself favor and get a real RC trainer and you will progress much faster and spend less total bucks and a whole heck of a lot less frustration.

Its a neat little airplane and I have one for mini warbird racing but if you already got it, just set it aside for several airplanes down the line.

Get a Trainer. If you are on a tight budget, my advice would be to frequently check the RCU Marketplace and pick yourself a good used Ready to Fly Trainer there. We probally all would have skipped the Trainer and went right to something like a P-51 or something if it was just as easy to learn on, but unfortunately we all have to crawl before we can walk.
