Charging a Tanic Li-poly
 

I'm trying to charge my first Li-poly pack, a Tanic 3 cell 2500 mAh using a new Hobbico Accu-cycle elite and the charger only got to 1600mah before stopping. How do I get the battery fully charged to 2500?

Do I have to use the Tanic Taps for each cell and if so do I set the charger to read one third of the packs total amperage for each cell charge. For example for one cell would I set the charger to read 3.7Volts and 800mah or maybe 850mah. The charger does not seem to have a setting for single cells but it does allow for changing the voltage.

My 1900 ma Lipos usually take a 1400-1500 ma charge to peak out. You probably still had some juice left in it. You can't discharge Lipos down to zilch without cycling...still not sure if you would get the full 2500 charge even then.

Good question. If you don’t know much about ion's look out they are very dangerous. First post question at “Batteries & Charger form @ RCU” but before spend some time there read some of the posts. Second go to http://www.rcbatteryclinic.com/ and read up cause if you don’t you will either ruin your pack or you’re life.
