hi all. im really new at this but here goes i have just got a puppeteer 2 and i have completed the front fuselage and rear no wings at all yet ,question is when is the best time to put the engine in im getting a fl 70 4stroke ,and do i need a box arond the back of it like the one round the fuel tank ,ie another firewall. and do i cote it with this fuel repellant stuff.as i said im really new any tips would be greatfull from me.also once i put the bodywork on the plane is it possible to put servos and battery in after is there room ?
and does the fuel tank fit direct to the engine ?
also how do i fill the tank up when its in the plane ? like i said im a noob.i will keep asking questions on this post so please pop back and help me? thanks in advance

Hi Im new at this hobby too. I have also purchased a puppeteer mk2 kit as my first one and i think we could help each other out with our problems. I have build the fuselage c and im finishing of my bottom wings . be carefull when you will be doing the ailerons, and check if they fit correctly before you mount them. It would be best to put the engine in its place as soon as possible but go around forums and check for pictures so youll know what is going on. Do not put any servos and batteries in now. Do as much as you can on the model building , you will understand how it is done dont worry . Im only 15 but i understood everything after a while. People said to me that this is not a good for a begginer but i dont find much difficulties building it at all. Do not fly it as your first plane as you may crash it easily. Buy a cheap trainer for the begginning and let yourself understand how flying is done. Attend a local club and theyll help you out a lot, also remember that your local model shop is lead by an experienced moddeler who could help you out choosing the servos ,radio etc. at a later stage . I've just seen your post - belatedly! I have to say that putting a 4 stroke in is much MUCH easier before you even attach the rear part of the fuse' to the front - and certainly before you sheet the front.

I've ended up, as you would expect, with cutting away some of the firewall and the fuel box. The tank will project at least 2 cm beyond the box rear [i didnt glue the tank box end on as per suggestions on the 'thrust angle' thread. A 70 is a big beast for this plane. Are you happyb that it will fit between the engine bearers and that, when the mounting holes are drilled you will be able to tighten the bolts up? My view is that, B4 you sheet the front, you should have installed, or at least planned:
- position of all servos, rec. battery and receiver.
- throttle linkage
- run of fule line including where the filter will be and how you will fill it up [I have used a Du-Bro gismo so that I can fill from the side of the fuse' without taking any fuel line off.
- work out the run of cables to rudder and elevators.
I'm mounting all radio gear jsut behind the fireall so I dont have to add weighs to get the CoG correct.
Fuel tank goes in the box but will project out. Short run of tubing up to the carb and you will need to blank the third hole off permanently unless you plan to fill via it and blank off after each filling.
Dont forget to work out your run along the fuse for the receiver wire and install a tube

Read and re-read the 'thrust angle' thread - the posters certainly know their onions and it will save you grief squared. there is also an excellent dutch thread on a flair pup build with some good photos - hope you speak the lingo.
