Asking for my frist plane??
 

Hey guys, I would like to star flying this christmas, since my father decide to give me as a present a plane, but in my local store they told that best to start is the MUSTANG, but the people from the club in my city told me that this plane is not good to start, could you guys tell, wich one is the best plane to start??? and also if you guys can the link

if glow.. any of the trainers are good... and LT-40 is my favorite...

I would certanly listen to the instructors in your club. I do know that there is a mustang on the market that is being advertised as a trainer, but I have no knowledge if in fact it can be a trainer or how it fly's. Speaking from experiance as an instructor, you want a plane that is slow and forgiving. If you want to build a plane from a kit look at a Sig LT 40 or a Great Planes Trainer 40. If you are looking at an ARF, the Avistar40 would be a good choice. I am sure that other's will respond with other excellent trainers as well to add to your choices. You want to talk with the club trainers about radio types so that your radio is compatable with thier's for buddy boxing. Did your Hobby Shop have other options for you to chose from or was the Mustang all that he had? I have always told all my students that the first airplane is not going to look good before or after learning how to fly, but it is intended to teach you how to fly the good looking planes later on. Thanks a lot guys, well I'm looking for a gas plane, and yes they have more planes in the store, but the told me about the mustang, any way, I'm going rigth now to another store, and I will let you guys know!!!

If it is the Hangar9 PTS Mustang then that is an excellent trainer If it's any other Mustang then no it's probably not a good trainer

I have suceesfully trained 6 students on this plane this past season and after you are done training take off the extensions and speed brakes and you have a very nice flying Mustang

Any other good high wing trainer such as the SIG LT-40, Nexstar, etc make excellent planes to train on. Be careful though, not all high wing planes are capable of being a trainer. The Decathalon comes to mind

Ok guys I went to the store, and they didn't have the mustang yet, so, I ask for another plane and they told me about the Alfa trainer, what do you guys think between the mustang trainer, or the alfa??

I learned to fly on the alpha. It has been an excellent plane for me. I am able to do just about all of the basic tricks with it, without too much difficulty. The speed on the alpha was just perfect for learning, it wasn't too fast but it wasn't so slow it was boring either. The Alpha is an excellent trainer.

As Bubba said, the Hangar-9 Mustang PTS can also be a very good trainer, but in either case, you MUST get instructions from a qualified instructor or either one will end up as a pile of broken sticks.

Lessons are free, but you must join the local club to get them. The guy at the Hobby Shop can direct you to your nearest club.

Ok guys, hard day for me, I bought my Mustang, is really nice plane, and is already on charge for tomorrow, I'm going to go to a local club to see if I can do my first fly tomorrow, I played for two hours with the simulator, and +#)$_# is extremely hard, lol, hope easy. hehe well I'm going to sleep.
