Midstar egine mounting...

Hi, I am coming to the end of putting together a Midstar. The plans show a 4 stroke engine but I am using an OS 46AX. The engine mount , if I am reading the plans right has the engine a bit lower than my other models. To get thisa to work I will have to dremel a slot for the needle valve and also a bit for the muffler to clear. Does this sound right or did I screw up and have the engine mounted too low?!? Thankx for your time, Fast!

Hi!
Sounds right!
You can of course mount the engine any way you like as long as the universal fuel-tank-to engine rule is followed.,

Minor adjustments like that are just part of the hobby. I don't think I've had a plane yet that I didn't have to use the Dremel to get the needle valve to fit right in it.

I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Fatsky, I had to notch out a cheek for the needle valve of the OS 52 FS on my Midstar. I remember toying with putting an OS 46 FX on it. I would have had to carve some space for it's muffler. You're probably OK.
