Receiver Choice
Hello everyone,
I'm considering buying the Futaba 6EXAP transmitter for my trainer - because I really like it and because I've found it for a very very good price. I was just wondering what receiver would be a good match for it? I was offered the Futaba 136F 35Mhz receiver to go along with it ... with this be a good match? Any comments? Suggestions? |
RE: Receiver Choice
I couldn't find any info on that receiver. Try your question in the Futaba support forum:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_125/tt.htm Bax will be able to help I'm sure. Going just by what you have given us I'd say you have a transmitter that will operate in FM or PCM modes. If I am correct, the receiver you have listed is a single conversion FM receiver. I'm not saying this is good or bad. Just what it is. Check with Bax for more. |
RE: Receiver Choice
It appears to be a single conversion model. I see it listed at a bunch of places, but not on the US Futaba site. Bruce is right that the new 6EX transmitters can do PCM. On a trainer it's probably overkill to get a PCM receiver. I'd suggest buying a dual conversion receiver. Futaba has several choices. You might also look for Hitec, they have some dual conversion receivers that work well. Just be sure you buy the version that's compatible with Futaba. I have two of the Electron 6 receivers that I use with my 6EXA, they work great.

RE: Receiver Choice
Sure I'll check out out dual conversion receivers. What exactly is the difference between a single and dual conversion receiver?
You won't find the R136F on the US Futaba site - I think it's European only as it's 35MHz (the US uses 72MHz I think). |

RE: Receiver Choice
Do a little shopping. The Hitec's are quite reasonable.
