GP PT40 kit

I'm in the porcess of building the PT-40 (my first experience with building an R/C aircraft), and have arrived at step 9, page 38 in the manual - preparing the wing for sheeting. I have temporarilyattached the washout jigs to each wing tip. My question is: can one half of the wing be sheeted and allowed to dry before the other half is done? More specifically, must the center of the wing and both wing tips be supported during this process? My workbench isn't long enough to allow for this. What I'd like to do, if possible, is weight down the center (root) section at one end of my bench, and one tip with the jig at the other; then glue the sheeting. Once this has been completed, I would repeat the process for the other half of the wing. My concern is that this may cause differential washout (warping) of the wing. If both must be done at the same time, I guess I'll be heading to the dining room table.

Looking at the way the manual has you do it, I would say your best bet would be to do it verbatum.

That said, the washout is really not critical, so if you wanted to just lay it flat on your workbench and sheet one side at a time, it really won't hurt anything.

Absolutely agree.

Ditto on Minnflyer and BritBrat.........I had a PT40 a long time ago and the plane is great. Just
relax......do your best..........and this plane will do the rest.

Cheers,
Andy

Thanks, all, for your quick responses. Looks like I can just plunge into it the way I had hoped!

If memory serves me correct the washout jigs did'nt fit right anyways. so i would'nt put any washout in it if i was building another one. It was the first r/c plane that i built and covered in Monokote. Brought it to the field and they asked me what arf it was that i crashed and recovered. That was how bad it looked. Had to tell them it was the first time out of the basement. Flew really good though and that was what i learned how to fly on. it was money well spent. Luckily my covering skills have gotten way better.
