SIG LT 40 CG
Ok boys let me know what you think. She is on the cg machine at 3.5 in from the leading edge. This is about the same down angle my pst51 had and she flys fine. What do you guys think about this? Its in my gallery because i couldnt figure out how to include it in my post. Sorry about that.

looks like you need some tailweight to level it out
***edited in that most ppl wont look at your gallery, so I did the honors of attaching the pic in question to this post*** |
RE: SIG LT 40 CG
Balance it level or just a tiny bit nose heavy. Balance point is right on the main spar.
Balance it with the tank empty. Pick it up and put your finger tips right on the spar and right near the sides of the fuselage. Thats how I balance my LT-40. I do it with the nose pointing at myself. Just pick it up and put your index finger right in the middle of the spar. Nose should be pointing down about 2 or 3 degrees when your fingers are in the middle of the spar. I actually like to fly mine a little on the tailheavy side. It's balanced about 1 or 2 degrees nose high with my fingertips right at the very back edge of the main spar. I actually have to land it with a little down elevator when the tank is empty. You should balance it nose heavy for a beginner. If you balance it tail heavy and your a beginner--you can get into some major trouble. And once you get into trouble--your pretty much screwed. SPLAT!!! |
RE: SIG LT 40 CG
if i remeber right there's a good spread on the cg range if your new you want to fly with the cg to the front of the range looks like you'd be ok where you are but i balanced mine level at the front of the range and as i got better at flyin i moved the cg aft

RE: SIG LT 40 CG
I moved the battery pack back and brought the nose up a bit. I think that is just to much front weight. I put my mustang on and found i lied to you guys. In the end i moved the battery pack back on it as well 2 months ago.

RE: SIG LT 40 CG
Nose heavy planes do not fly well.
Tail heavy planes fly only once. POSTING PICTURES: Use the post reply button at the bottom left of this box. Do not use the Fast Reply Editor.
