goldberg "protege"
I am building my first kit.I have picked the Goldberg protege Have couple of questions on building techniques.
When you are building the wing half. As long as your keep your plans going the same way (I.E. trailing edge facing you) does it matter which end you start building first. trailing edge facing you) does it matter which end you start building first. |
RE: goldberg "protege"
People usually set up the wing with the main spar as the center of focus. They also work from the center of the wing outwards. Then return to attach the two wing halves.

RE: goldberg "protege"
Doesn't really matter, so long as all the parts end up where they are supposed to. If all else fails, follow procedure in instructions. Just don't frame up 2 right or 2 left wing panels. Obviously you need one of each. You'd be surprised how often that mistake happens.

RE: goldberg "protege"
Not very many kits come with super detained instructions. It is often assumed that the builder has some general experience and understanding, or will figure it out. Generally just use some good sense for things that are not spelled out. There is certainly more than one way to accomplish most aspects of construction. The final result is all that really matters. Developing your own set of methods is part of the fun. ARFs have opened lots of doors for many, but the building aspect of this hobby has suffered. Individual building is where the really interesting stuff comes from. Good luck with your first construction.
