Servos and Radios
I know i shouldnt really post it here but I am a begginer so here it goes, I was wondering if you can use a different compays radio for any servo (Example: Can you use a JR radio with Futanuba servos)
Plz reply |
Servos and Radios
Yes. All servos are wired pretty much the same except for older airtronics. For the rest, just plug and go!

Hitec, Futaba, JR, and Airtronics "Z" (they have blue connectors) servos are all interchangable with a few exceptions. Those exceptions are at the very high-end of the line in very specialized servos that most people never use. Futaba servos have a small tab on the connector that must be trimmed off to use them with other brands' receivers, but that's no big deal.
Any Airtronics servo without a "Z" at the end of the model number can't be used with the above brands unless they have their polarity changed, either by taking apart the connector or using an adaptor. These servos have a black tabbed connector. Along the same lines, don't try to use any of the above brands' servos with a non-"Z" Airtronics receiver without changing their polarity. I think it's great that the industry provides us with largely interchangable components. It makes it much easier to get the best equipment for your specific purpose. |
