Paint and fuel question?

I'm ready to cover my Eagle 2 wing. The question I have is - The servo tray that goes around the aileron servo is wood. I would like to paint that area instead of covering it. Is there a certain spay paint that is fuel proof that I can pick up at homedepot or loews ? thanks

Rustoleum works will. I buy the small cans for those small areas I want to paint. Its fuel proof and easy to just brush on. Its my understanding that the metallics and the clear are not fuel proof but I haven't tried them.

Spray epoxy you can buy from Home Depot or Lowes works well. If you have a LHS nearby, both Monocote and Ultracote have paints that are supposed to match their coverings. Polyeuretanes are pretty fuel resistant also. Latex will get gummy and sticky when exposed to fuels.

Hope this helps.

Honestly, since the servo tray in the wing end up inside the fusalage of the plane when the wing is attached there is no need to paint it. Seems like sort of a waste of money to buy paint just to paint the aileron servo tray.

Ditto, and if you DO still want to paint it, it doesn't need to be fuel-proof paint.

It's inside the cabin. If you get fuel in there, you'll have a LOT more to worry about than your servo tray :D
